Updated April 19th, 2018.
This PADI Deep Diver Course can be taken by anyone who has already passed the Advanced Open Water Course. It allows you to dive anywhere in the world to a depth of 40 metres!
This course is an extremely popular speciality SCUBA diving course. When you take the Open Water Diver Course you become certified to dive to a maximum depth of 18 metres and the Advanced Open Water Diver Course allows you to dive to 30 metres.
Of course, there is a lot that can be seen in the recreational depth limits. However, adding that extra 10 metres of depth will be a huge benefit to exploring many of the more extraordinary dive sites around the world. It is also beneficial to anyone that has, or is interested in taking, a Wreck Specialty Course, as it allows you to penetrate the wreck further.
What will you learn during the Deep Diver Course?
During this 2-day course, you’ll learn the additional safety considerations involved with deep diving. You will simulate emergency decompression, and experience Nitrogen Narcosis stronger than ever before.
Over the period of classroom sessions and four dives you will learn about:
- Colour changes from depth
- Nitrogen Narcosis
- Simulate Emergency Decompression
We offer a maximum group size of four students to one experienced instructor, making sure that each student receives enough attention. This way, they can qualify as a competent, safe diver whilst having a great time!
Note: If smaller group instruction is required, please message us and we are happy to arrange!
Here is a sample schedule of the Deep Diver Course, which includes the four dives. (This schedule can be flexible according to your needs.)
|Day 1||16:00 – 18:00||Course Orientation, Paperwork & Theory|
|Day 2||06:00 – 10:30||2 x Deep Dive|
|Day 3||06:00 – 10:30||1 x 40m Dive, 1 Additional Deep Dive|
About the qualification
The Deep Diver License certifies you to dive around the world and explore recreational dive sites at any depth.
After having achieved this certification there are many routes to continue. First of all, you may decide to continue Fun Diving with us or continue using Nitrox. (All ex-students will receive a discounted price on all dives that they do with us. It’s our way of us saying thanks!)
Secondly, you may decide to take a Specialty Diver Course to learn more about the various environments in which you can dive. The most popular of these dive courses is the Wreck Diver Specialty, which certifies you to penetrate shipwrecks. Also, the Nitrox Diver Specialty allows you to extend your ‘No-Decompression-Limits’ and dive safely with the use of increased percentages of oxygen in your tank.
With both of these last two dive speciality courses, we offer 10% discount.
