The Golden Triangle Tour of India: 6-Day Itinerary
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN DELHI
Arrive at Delhi airport. Take a taxi to reach your hotel (Hotel Booked by Yolo India Tours). Overnight stay in Delhi.
DAY 2: EXPLORE DELHI: THE OLD AND THE NEW
After a good sleep, your morning begins with a refreshing breakfast at your hotel. Next, get ready to experience the best of Old and New Delhi as your guide shows you around the city.
The tour will start in Old Delhi where you will visit the Jama Mosque – the largest mosque in the whole of India! Then, we will take an exhilarating rickshaw ride (pedicab) through the 300-year-old Chandni Chowk Bazaar to explore the historical lanes of Old Delhi and visit Asia’s largest spice market!
At the end of the rickshaw ride, we will head over to Raj Ghat, a peaceful place with beautiful gardens. This is an important memorial to the father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi.
Later, we will visit British Delhi (New Delhi), drive passed the official home of President of India (Rashtrapati Bhavan) and India’s highest legislative body, the parliament building. Along the way, we will also visit the Iconic India gate memorial to 90,000 Indian soldiers who died during World War I. Our last visit for the day will be Qutub Minar UNESCO World Heritage Site, which dates back to the 13th Century.
We will stay overnight stay in Delhi.
DAY 3: DELHI – JAIPUR (280 KM / 5-6 HOURS DRIVE)
After a leisurely breakfast, we will drive to the Pink City of Jaipur by road, passing through rural villages, the Aravalli mountain range and agricultural land. Upon arrival in Jaipur, we will check in to the hotel and have a rest after our journey.
Then, we will take a short drive to Chowki Dhani. Here, you will experience the vibrant spirit of Rajasthan in this Rajasthani-themed village with various evening performances, art demonstrations and a lavish buffet!
After our traditional Rajasthani dinner at Chowki Dhani, we will return to our hotel. This marks the end of another fun-filled day of our tour!
We will stay overnight in Jaipur.
DAY 4: PINK CITY – FORTS AND PALACES TOUR
After a filling breakfast, you will be collected by your guide and taken to Amer Fort, an incredible 4 kilometres square fort with over a 1,000-year-old history. After exploring the fort, we will head to the city for the rest of our sightseeing tour. En route we will stop to snap a photo of the amazing spectacle of Jal Mahal (Water Palace).
In the afternoon, we will find out about the local Jaipur style of artwork, block printing and stone cutting. Then we will visit the City Palace, built between 1729 and 1732. We will also visit the solar observatory of Jantar Mantar. The observatory was built in 1716 AD and contains 15 astronomical instrument complexes. The evening is free to explore however you like.
We will stay overnight in Jaipur.
DAY 5: JAIPUR – 9th CENTURY STEPWELL – FATEHPUR SIKRI – AGRA (280 KM/ 5-6 HOURS DRIVE)
After a delicious breakfast, we will drive to Agra. Enroute we make stop to visit 9th Century step well Abhaneri and the amazing red sandstone ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri. We will then continue our drive to Agra. Upon arrival, we check in to the hotel and you have a free evening to explore Agra.
We will stay overnight in Agra.
DAY 6: AGRA – DELHI (220 KM / 3-4 HOURS DRIVE)
Today we will wake up early to visit the spectacular Taj Mahal at Sunrise. We return to the hotel for a hot breakfast and check out. Then, we have one more fort to visit before we leave Agra… We will then drive to Delhi on one of the best highways in India. Upon arrival in Delhi, we will take you to the airport so that you can continue your journey in Asia! Please Note: The tour will finish at 6 pm at Delhi Airport.
