12 Day Half Moon Experience
DAY 1
THAI-LAND!
When you land, we pick you up at the airport and take you directly to your hotel. You have a free day to get to know your group and get settled. In the evening we go out on the infamous Khao San Road for drinks.
DAY 2
CRUISE BANGKOK
We take a longtail boat along the Chao Phraya River, allowing you to see the city from the water. You’ll explore Bangkok and experience some of Thailand’s heritage. We visit two prestigious temples – Wat Arun and Wat Pho, to see the very impressive giant, gold reclining Buddha statue. You can then spend the rest of the day exploring. We recommend you try some of Bangkok’s famous shopping opportunities, which have the reputation of being notoriously cheap. Remember to always try and barter with the street vendors, you can sometimes get as much as 50% off the original price! Then in the evening, we meet again for dinner, drinks and more group bonding.
DAY 3
MIDNIGHT SPECIAL
Try a traditional Thai massage before we travel overnight on the train down south, and swap the hustle and bustle of Bangkok for the tranquil lakes of Khao Sok National Park – situated in the Surat Thani province of Thailand.
DAY 4
KHAO SOK FLOATING BUNGALOWS
Head to our floating bungalows on a longtail boat whilst stopping along the way for a quick dip and dive. Try your hand at some kayaking or chill with a beer in a tube in front of the stunning backdrop of this limestone mountain range. The floating bungalows where you’ll be staying make you feel like you’re on the set of Jurassic Park. You’ll love waking up on a fresh-water lake surrounded by rainforest!
DAY 5
ARRIVE IN KOH PHANGAN, BOTTLE BEACH
Wake up early on the lake and enjoy a spot of breakfast before we head to Koh Phangan. When we arrive we go straight to a secluded paradise beach, Bottle Beach. Our favourite beach in the world. It is quiet, amazingly beautiful, only accessible by boat and to make it better, we pretty much get the whole place to ourselves and stay in beach huts overlooking the ocean. Enjoy the afternoon here in whatever way you fancy, swimming, sunbathing, playing volleyball… In the evening we can enjoy dinner and some cocktails on the beach next to a campfire with our own private fire show.
DAY 6
MUAY THAI LESSON
What better sound to wake you up than waves rolling on the beach? Make the most of your surroundings during the morning, which you have to yourself. You can play volleyball, go kayaking, top up your tan, go trekking to viewpoints or catch up on some sleep. We have an early afternoon pick-up to take you to a local gym to try your hand at a bit of Muay Thai boxing, Thailand’s national sport. Next, we head to Echo Beach Backpackers where we will spend two nights in this awesome accomadation. We will arrange a time to meet for dinner and jump in a taxi to Haad Rinn where you will find more beach bars if you fancy a few drinks.
DAY 7
ISLAND BOAT TRIP
Today we start our voyage around Koh Phangan. Spend the day taking in the amazing tropical island scenery, stop for some snorkelling at the coolest hotspots and visit Than Sadet waterfall (depending on the season). You might think it couldn’t get any better but it does, we have free drinks and food throughout the day along with music. At night we take you to the best restaurant in town for a slap up meal on us. It’s here where we prepare to say our goodbyes some of our friends as their adventure draws to a close so we hit the beach bars for one last boogie to cap a great week.
DAY 8
PHANGAN CHALLENGE LAKE
Having said goodbye to some of our group, now only the true party animals are left! After settling into our new dorm rooms we’ll grab a taxi to Challenge Lake in the north of the island where you can try your hand at the water obstacle course (much like TV Wipeout course). As well as all the water-fun, they have a cool lakeside bar/restaurant. We can spend a few hours here either playing on the rope swing or the blob, having a go at the course, or chilling on the lake or at the bar. Next, we head to one of the island’s coolest sunset view bars to watch the sun come down in the Gulf of Thailand from a pool with a cocktail. Life doesn’t get much better than this.
DAY 9
SLIP N FLY
Just to prove there’s no such thing as” enough water fun”, on day 9 we take you to Slip N Fly, the notorious slide that was recently voted in the top ten water slides in the world, this is not for the faint-hearted. The slide is massive and sends people up to 30 feet above the plunge pool below, what a rush! Don’t worry if you are not a big fan of heights or water slides. This place has much more to offer. It’s actually a day party with DJ’s, games, a volleyball pool, bar, looooooads of sunbeds and chill-out areas and of course the constant entertainment of watching other backpackers throw themselves down the slides.
DAY 10
HALF MOON PARTY
Tonight is the night! Time to live the Half Moon Party Experience! We leave the day free for you to charge your batteries & prepare for the party. Top up your tan on the beach, grab some half moon attire and some UV body paint. At 7:30 pm pre-parties start at the hostel before we head on down to the main jungle venue of the Half Moon party. Whether or not you’ve heard of this place, there have been rumours flying around for years that the Half Moon is as good, if not better than the Full Moon Party… Well, that is still being debated and is a matter of opinion. However, it certainly is an awesome party at a very cool venue in the jungle with two music stages, lots of entertainment, people and buckets.
DAY 11
CHILL OUT DAY
The only thing we have planned for you today is a nice relaxing massage at the spa opposite the hostel. Depending on how active you are feeling, the rest of the day can be spent sleeping, relaxing on the beach or exploring.
DAY 12
CHECK OUT
Today, unfortunately, your experience with us must come to an end. Not to fear though, we are still on hand to help you with whatever you want to do next. If you haven’t yet had your fix of Phangan and the hostel, you can extend your stay, or we can help you book transport elsewhere in Thailand or S.E. Asia if you have time to carry on exploring or if you need to get back to Bangkok for a flight.
