Day 1: Gili Kedis & Gili Tangkong
- If you are picked up in Senggigi, you will visit the picturesque Batu Bolong Temple. Travellers being picked up in Mataram will head to the Banyumulek Pottery Village to learn about the craft of Sasak pottery making. If pick-up is from Bangsal Harbour travellers will drive through the monkey forest and have the opportunity to see the wild monkeys and great coastal views. If the collection is from Kuta Lombok travellers will visit Sade Traditional Village and have the opportunity to see and learn about the early Sasak building techniques. From here, you will drive to Sekotong to board the boat that will be your transport for the trip.
- The first island you will visit is the stunning <Gili Kedis. Which is the island you will be camping on overnight. Our guides will prepare the camp, complete with a campfire. There is no obligation to help with this, although help is always appreciated! All wood for fires is sourced responsibly from fallen branches and trees on the neighbouring island of Gili Tangkong. Definitely make sure you catch the sunset as it promises to be a beautiful scene. After camp has been set up, dinner will get well underway. Some of this will have been prepared in advance and the rest will be cooked fresh.
- You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the island, relax, swim, use the swings or just take in the sunset. There is also the option to try out fishing using the traditional techniques favoured by many locals.
- After your dinner, there is time to relax around the campfire with snacks (if you still have room)! The local guides pride themselves on their musical abilities so you are sure to have good evening entertainment. Of course, there will also be the opportunity to have a few drinks as well! As the night draws in, you will head to your tents for an unforgettable night spent on this incredible island, under thousands of stars.
Day 2: Gili Nanggu & Gili Sudak, Return to Lombok
- In the morning, you will wake up early in time for a beautiful island sunrise. You will be able to truly enjoy the moment with no stress as the guides prepare hot drinks and breakfast for you. Feel free to snap photos of the sunrise or take a dip in the ocean whilst they prepare everything. Before leaving the island, guides will pack up the camping gear, everyone will collect up their rubbish to dispose of back in Lombok. All backpackers know how important it is to travel responsibly so this part of the trip is very important! You’ll then head to your first island of the day.
- Now you will head to Gili Nanggu, which is the largest of the three islands and also, the best for snorkelling. Prepare to see hundreds of brightly coloured schools of fish! There will be loads of time to relax on Gili Nanguu, so you have plenty of time to take it all in!
- Gili Sudak will be the next island you visit and it will be here where you can get lunch (not included in the package price). There are few but very good fresh food options available including a traditional Indonesian seafood lunch, fried noodles with vegetables and chicken or seafood fried rice. After you have got your fill, the boat will take you back to the mainland and return you to your hotel in either Sengiggi, Mataram, Kuta Lombok or Selong Belanak.

This was a fantastic experience- camping on a little tropical island! The service was excellent with well organised, friendly staff that took me to the central Lombok village for a coconut oil making lesson. Then on the boat to the island which was really special to be the only ones there around a camp fire. The next day we had the island to ourselves, and then explored the amazing snorkelling on the other islands.
I would highly recommend this trip for anybody visiting Lombok
