The fact is all yoga was ‘yin’ at the beginning!
First, there was Yin. As humans evolved, we descended into a more dense energy over aeons of time and became more Yang in every aspect including our life and yoga practice. Now is the time more than ever before to bring back balance, but here not only do we find balance, we find a doorway into meditation and true self!
Yin Yoga is our Divine Feminine (within us all, male and female)…

…It is our spiritual gateway
…It is our emotional centre

…It is our doorway into meditation
…It is our connection to our true and higher self
…It is surrendering to all that IS!
Physically, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin poses are in a sitting or lying position where gravity can do most of the work. We disengage and relax our muscles and our minds. Essentially, we surrender by suspending the body and the minds’ urge to control, grasp to, judge or classify experience.
We just observe. Activity is slow, steady & stationary, with a sense of core softness and surrender. Yin can be quite challenging due to the long duration holding in the postures (anywhere from one to twenty minutes).
By stressing and compressing energy lines, organs, connective tissue, such as the ligaments, bones & joints of the body that are normally not touched so deeply in a more active style of asana practice, for extended periods of time, we maintain healthy range of motion in the body, clear energetic toxins and move into a more balanced state on all levels.
Meditation is more important than ever before as we move through this time of ‘Ascension’. Anything can be meditation, yes, most definitely, but there comes a time when we simply need to slow down, stop and sit still! This is a huge challenge for most especially as there may be a lot of ‘releasing’ occurring which affects the mental, emotional and physical body on a painful level at times.

Meet Ashling of Jyoti Yoga Soul. Ashling offers a welcome, safe, loving, supportive and healing environment for anyone wishing to embark upon their yoga journey. This is an intensive course, therefore, there are early starts and no days off but there is a day of silence and personal free time allocated.
Serenity Eco Guesthouse is located in North Canggu, on the east coast of Bali, on a quiet road, two minutes walk to the ocean. There are cafes and restaurants in Serenity itself, and within a few minutes walk elsewhere. Further afield is the busier area of Canggu approximately a twenty-minute walk.
There is plenty of very affordable accommodations available in Canggu, ranging in price on average from $15 – $25 USD per night and upward to more exclusive options. Serenity Eco Yoga have their own guesthouse with beautiful accommodations, singles, doubles and dorms (see photos in gallery). If you prefer to stay a little further away there are plenty of mopeds for rent if you are familiar with driving them and taxis are cheap.
