Itinerary: 3 Day | 3 Night Itinerary
Night 1: Hanoi to Ha Giang by Sleeper Bus
- 7:00 PM: Pick up from your accommodation if required.
- 8:00 PM: Everyone meets at Cheers Hostel in Old Quarter, Hanoi.
- 9:00 PM: Get on a comfortable sleeper bus to Ha Giang. Arrive at the charming Ha Giang homestay around 3:00 AM, where a few hours of rest await you before awakening to a delicious breakfast and gearing up for three days of thrilling escapades!
- For those travelling from Sapa or Ha Giang, simply reach out to the tour provider to coordinate pick-up times and seamlessly join this extraordinary journey!
Day 1: Ha Giang City β Yen Minh Town β Dong Van
(Highlights: Heaven Gate – Bac Sum Pass – Tham Ma Pass – Hmong King Palace)
- 8:30 AM: Meet your easy rider tour guide. Prepare your safety gear and hop on the back of the motorbike β your Ha Giang Motorbike Tour has begun!
- Embark on an awe-inspiring journey, beginning with a thrilling ascent towards Bac Sum Pass, culminating at the mesmerizing Heaven Gate. Here, feast your eyes on the breathtaking panorama of twin mountains and Tam Son Town. A delectable lunch in Yen Minh Town awaits, setting the stage for a scenic ride towards Dong Van, winding through the enchanting Chin Khoanh Pass.
- Prepare to be captivated by the otherworldly beauty of the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark β a realm of colossal mountains, towering limestone formations, and endless flora that youβll remember for years to come! Immerse yourself in the daily life of local hill tribe communities to witness their harmonious connection with the surrounding land.
- Your journey unfolds further with a visit to the Hmong Kingβs Palace, the majestic century-old residence of Vuong Chinh Duc, a revered leader of the Hmong people. As evening descends, arrive at a family-owned hotel in Dong Van, where a warm Vietnamese dinner awaits, and perhaps even a round of karaoke with local families, capping off a day filled with exhilarating rides and captivating sightseeing.

Day 2: Dong Van Town β Ma Pi Leng Pass β Nho Que River β Du Gia Local Village
(Highlights: Happiness Road – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Sky Walk – Meo Vac Town – Du Gia Waterfall)
- After breakfast, leave Dong Van Town to make your way to one of Vietnamβs most famous stretches of road β the Ma Pi Leng Pass.
- Itβs risen to fame because of its abrupt cliffs, amazing switchbacks and breathtaking views. After driving through the pass with plenty of photo stops along the route, youβll have the opportunity to trek the Sky Path, which offers a 360Β° panorama of Ma Pi Leng Pass.
- Most only get to see the Nho Que River from the mountain pass, but not on this tour! Paddle along the turquoise waters as majestic mountains rise high above your head. After drying off, continue to drive through the rustic villages of Meo Vac, Mau Due and Lung Ho, where lunch is served.
- In the afternoon, youβll pass through the epic mountains to Du Gia rural homestay, located in the middle of green rice fields. Here, youβll enjoy a massive, home-cooked dinner with your host family and new friends. Donβt forget to try the βhappy waterβ β which is what the Vietnamese affectionately call rice wine.

Day 3: Du Gia-Lung Tam Village β Ha Giang-Hanoi
(Highlights: Swimming in local waterfall β Lung Tam Village)
- On the last day of your journey, be sure to pack your swimsuit as youβll be stopping at a nearby waterfall to cool off. Then, experience firsthand the art of Hmong textile making in Lung Tam, a Hmong village where local women work tirelessly to produce pieces of textile art.
- Youβll even have the opportunity to purchase a textile bag or other accessories to take home with you. We then cross Quan Ba Town, where youβll see Nui Doi Mountain. Making your way back to Ha Giang Loop, cross the Sky Gate and head back through Bac Sum Pass to arrive at the Ha Giang hostel in the early afternoon.
- At 4:30 PM, youβll board an exclusive comfort limousine van back to Hanoi, arriving in the Hanoi Old Quarter around 11:30 PM.

Itinerary: 4 Day | 4 Night Itinerary
Night 1: Transfer to Ha Giang from Hanoi
- 7:00 PM: Pickup from your accommodation if required.
- 8:00 PM: Everyone meets at Epic Tour Hanoi Office. Keep your bags here and enjoy free tea, and coffee.
- 9:00 PM: Ride the sleeper bus to Ha Giang. Arrive in Ha Giang at around 3:00 AM and settle in for a few hours sleep before eating breakfast and meeting your easy rider!
- If youβre going from Sapa or Ha Giang, contact the tour provider for pick-up times.
Day 1: Ha Giang City β Yen Minh Town β Dong Van
(Highlights: Heaven Gate – Bac Sum Pass – Tham Ma Pass – Hmong King Palace)
- 8:30 AM: Meet your guide and easy rider, prepare your safety gear and embark on your brilliant Ha Giang Loop adventure. The road leads you to Bac Sum Pass and up to Heaven Gate, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Twin Mountains and Tam Son Town. Stop for lunch at a local homestay in Nam Dam Village.
- Ride through the major geo-heritage sight of Dong Van Karst Plateau and have your mind blown by this unique collection of mountains and valleys!
- Rice fields stretch off into the distance and youβll be surrounded by towering limestone rocks. This area gives you the chance to witness local hill tribes working the land as they have for generations.
- Youβll visit the Hmong Kingβs Palace and arrive in Dong Van just in time to enjoy a local Vietnamese dinner and live music after a long day of mind-blowing landscape views!

Day 2: Dong Van Town β Ma Pi Leng Pass β Party at Cheers Du Gia Homestay
(Highlights: Happiness Road – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Sky Path – Meo Vac Town – Waterfall – Authentic homestay)
- After breakfast, youβll leave Dong Van Town and head towards one of the journeyβs highlights, the Ma Pi Leng Pass. Itβs well known for its cliffs and breathtaking views, often referred to as the βkingβ of the passes in Vietnam.
- Youβll climb the Sky Path for an encompassing view of the whole valley and Nho Que River. From the top, there is a spectacular 360Β° panorama of Ma Pi Leng Pass.
- Heading down from the pass, youβll ride through the villages of Meo Vac, Mau Due and Lung Ho, where lunch will be served.
- In the afternoon, pass through the epic mountainous to Du Gia rural homestay, surrounded by green rice fields. Expect a cosy dinner with local food and partake in the regionβs infamous βhappy water.β

Day 3: Local Life in Du Gia Village β Ban an Stream β Tham Lin Cave β Party at Cheers Du Gia Homestay
(Highlights: Hiking around the village through rice fields – Ban An Stream – Tham Lin Cave – Bamboo raft – Authentic homestay)
- After breakfast at the homestay, youβll get the opportunity to hike around the village through rice fields and visit local houses to observe a traditional way of life.
- After lunch, youβll head off to Ngoc Long, known as a neglected wonder hidden in dense forests, and enjoy a bamboo raft ride through Ban An Stream and Tham Lin Cave.
- Return to Du Gia Village, have a cosy dinner with locals and hold a party at the homestay.

Day 4: Du Gia-Lung Tam Village β Ha Giang-Hanoi
(Highlights: Good morning nature – walking around rice field – Lung Tam village)
- On the last day of your journey, take another walk in the beautiful village.
- Visit Lung Tam. This village is occupied by Hmong ethnic minorities, who are skilful textile producers. Youβll then cross Quan Ba Town and see Nui Doi Mountain and the Fairyβs Breastsβ¦
- After crossing Sky Gate, pass back by Bac Sum Pass and head to Ha Giang late afternoon, before getting the 4:30 PM limousine bus back to Hanoi Old Quarter, arriving at about 11:00 PM.
- If you do not have accommodation arranged, you can book a private room for 28$/night at Cheers Hanoi.

Accommodation
All accommodation on this easy rider tour is private, in a hotel or homestay. Bathrooms are shared. Night one is spent on the bus from Hanoi to Ha Giang.
Food
Local Vietnamese food is provided at your accommodation and restaurants along the route. Vegetarian and vegan options are available. Most dietary needs can be catered for. Please inform of any dietary requirements in the additional information box at the time of booking.
Guide
The tour leaders all speak good English. Many of the easy riders have limited English but all members of the team are fun, energetic and keen to offer you the best possible trip!

FAQs
- What should I pack for the trip? Passport, swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, warm clothes for the cooler months (Nov-March), mosquito repellent, some cash, phone, camera, a healthy appetite and a good attitude! Please donβt bring more than 10kg of luggage on the trip.
- What is the best time of year to do this trip? You can take this tour any time of year. The best time is Spring (March-May) or Autumn (September-November). Summer (June-August) can be very wet and winter (December-February) is very cold up on the high passes.
- Can I leave my luggage at the hostel while I do the tour? Yes, you can leave your luggage at Cheers Hostel, Hanoi.
- Iβm a vegetarian/vegan and/or I have an allergy or a specific diet, can I be catered for on this trip? Yes, vegetarians, vegans and those with dietary requirements can be catered for. Please inform of any needs at the time of booking using the additional information box.
- Can I ride the motorcycle myself? In general, this tour is easy rider only because the roads around some areas arenβt safe unless youβre very experienced. If youβre an experienced rider and have an IDP (International Driverβs License), you may be allowed to ride some of the easier roads at your easy riderβs discretion.

Riding Preference
This tour is only available as an easy rider.
Easy rider tours involve you riding pillion (on the back of the bike), while an experienced local rider (aka an easy rider) is in control of the bike. This allows you to experience the scenery without needing to focus on the road!

Ha Giang Epic Tours is not responsible for any personal injury or loss/damage to personal belongings or bags if they are not safely stored. Travel insurance is NOT included in the trip; we strongly recommend that you have your own travel insurance against illness, injury, loss/damage to personal belongings.
