This off-the-beaten-path adventure begins with a scenic drive from Hanoi, leading to a welcoming homestay where local cuisine and warm hospitality await. Dive into thrilling motorbike rides, serene lake swims, and picturesque sunsets with beers and a BBQ under the stars.
Day two offers biking through stunning landscapes, exploring hidden caves, and enjoying unforgettable views from mountain peaks. After a historical cave tour, unwind with locally-made dishes (complete with rice wine!). Itinerary:
Day 1
- 8 am – Meet at Hanoi Opera House to kick off your adventure! The bus leaves at 8:30 am for a 2.5-hour scenic drive to Huu Lien.
- 11 am – Arrive in Huu Lien and check into your cosy homestay.
- 12 pm – Enjoy a hearty local lunch.
- 1.30 pm – Gear up for an afternoon adventure with motorbike rides (either driving or riding pillion), farmland walks, and exploring the legendary ‘drunk’ cave. Stop at a local market for beers and snacks before ending with a sunset swim at the lake.
- 6.30 pm – Return to the homestay for a BBQ dinner and bonfire under the stars.
Day 2
- 7.30 am – Enjoy a tasty breakfast to fuel you for another day of epic adventure!
- 9 am – Strap on your helmet and get ready to pedal your way through paradise, stopping at picturesque viewpoints and hidden caves.
- 10.30 am – Hike to a famous peak for stunning 360-degree views of one of Vietnam’s most beautiful places.
- 12 pm – Enjoy more local cuisine for lunch.
- 1 pm – Jump back on the bikes and visit a historical cave, before heading back to the homestay with a coffee stop along the way.
- 6.30 pm – Enjoy evening drinks (hello beer and rice wine!) and stories, followed by dinner and optional traditional footbaths and massages. Perfect after a day of adventuring!
Day 3
- 8 am – Start the day with a light breakfast before you say farewell to your homestay.
- 9 am – Lace up your hiking boots and get ready for a short hike to a hidden lagoon with a waterfall.
- 12 pm – Head to a campsite where you’ll enjoy a locally sourced lunch. A little later, the bus departs, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Huu Lien, a true hidden gem!
Accommodation:
You will stay at a local homestay during your time in Huu Lien. The standard accommodation is a single bed in a shared room, but there are private rooms available too.
Food:
Food is a special highlight of the tour, all fresh and locally sourced – it will be some of the best food that you taste in the whole of Vietnam! Vegetarians, vegans and all other dietary requirements can be catered for. (Just add your requirements in the ‘additional information’ box when booking.)
