Location:
Brown Sugar is located directly on the beautiful black-sand beach of Medewi on Bali’s west coast. Medewi is an idyllic fishing village that has, so-far, escaped the rapid development of many other places on the island. With few tourists, deserted beaches, and a mellow mood, Medewi is a breath of fresh air for travellers who enjoy the quieter life, and ideal for surfers who like their line ups uncrowded. There are great local restaurants and a food market as well as a handful of western cafes and eateries catering to the surfers that come here seeking surf and a laid back vibe.
How to get there:
Medewi is located around three hours from Bali International Airport by car, or two hours from Canggu. Free airport transfers are included for bookings for one week or longer.
Alternatively, Grab taxis are a convenient way to reach Medewi from elsewhere in Bali and it’s also possible to take a public bus from Denpasar (Bali’s capital) to Medewi.
Other activities and facilities:
Brown Sugar Surf Camp features a swimming pool surrounded by a tropical garden, perfect for either relaxing or practising your turtle-roll or duck-diving skills!
