Floating Village Sunset Boat Trip
This tour runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays from 2:30pm โ 7pm.
Head out to Mey Chrey, one of Siem Reap’s little known floating villages for a peak at local life. The journey to the dock takes around 45 minutes and will give you the chance to experience some of the beautiful Cambodian countryside.
Upon arriving at the dock, you will enjoy a relaxing motorboat ride through the waterways for around 30 minutes. When you arrive at the village, there will be the opportunity to disembark and meet the local communities that call Mey Chrey home. Using your guide as your translator, you can get to know the families that live here and find out more about their way of life. One thing is certain, life on land is very different to life on the water!
After you have met some members of the community, you will return to the boat before heading out to Tonle Sap Lake, which is South East Asia’s largest inland lake! The tour will culminate with an opportunity to watch the Cambodian sunset over the floating houses, a spectacular end to an off the beaten track experience that you are sure to remember forever!

Very nice tour where we got picked up at our hotel in a minibus. On the way we stopped at a market where our guide Sokha Kim bought some local snacks for us. Kim did a very good job and were very good at English. When we got to the floating village by boat the people looked very happy. We also stopped and visited a family in their house to see and learn about their lifestyle. Some of our money go to the village to support them.
I really enjoyed the tour which I only decided to do because I read that this particular village benefits from our visit unlike the other floating villages. It was very interesting and scenic! The people who live there seemed happy to have us and our driver, Denny, was really friendly. The man who served as our guide and who works for the tour company was quite indifferent and just recited facts at certain times whether people were able to hear or even aware that he was speaking. When the tour ended I handed the guide a tip and said thank you. The driver thanked me but the guide ignored the tip and told me I had to pay. I told him I already paid and he just stood there staring at me. I told him I already paid again and he got in the van and left. Whatever
Had a great tour with a really good guide who told us a lot about Cambodia and the floating village. The sunset with some snacks was the best ending. Will always remember the day. Thanks a lot.
