Learn how to make Balinese food with this cooking class and market tour in beautiful Ubud, Bali.
This program offers you a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Balinese food and culture from local families. You will learn how to cook recipes that have been handed down through generations, you will learn more about local traditions and be guided along the way by an experience Balinese chef.
You will learn how to make at least five recipes that you can share with your family when you return back from your travels in Bali – there’s no other souvenir like it!
You will also have the opportunity to visit the local market with a Balinese local and learn some tips on how to haggle! During the market trip, you will also learn about the different types of rice that exist in Bali, how to buy and sell something in the market, which kind of ingredients go into each dish and much more!
Half day cooking program:
- Free Pick up at your hotel
- Visit the local market
- Learn about rice cultivation
- Visit a Bali traditional House (Balinese compound) to meet the local people
- Welcome drink (ice cold ginger tea)
- Simple explanation and demonstration of the offerings at temples and Balinese houses
- How to make the Balinese spicy paste (sauce) that is used for many dishes
- Start making the Balinese recipes
- Enjoy the Buffet lunch at the Balinese house
- Receive a free a copy of the recipes that you made during the class
- Free Drop off at your hotel

- Pepes Ayam (Grilled & steam chicken in banana leaf)

- Base Gede (Basic spices Paste)
- Klepon Cake (Boiled circle sticky flour with palm sugar)

Really enjoyable cooking class. A great way to experience the culture and try the traditional dishes. Would recommend
