Now that Bali has officially reopened, travellers are scrambling to get back to the island. However, travel right now is rarely without caveats or restrictions and all travellers to Indonesia’s most famous island will be required to wait out the first few days* of their trip in a designated quarantine hotel in Bali. 

In this article, we’ll look at a shortlist of the top hotels in Bali to complete your quarantine. We’ve included a few accommodation options in each location, so on this list, you’ll find hotels in Kuta, Sanur, Ubud and Nusa Dua. 

* The quarantine duration varies depending on your vaccination status and whether or not you have been boosted.

11 Recommended Quarantine Hotels in Bali

As of 22nd February 2022, the rules surrounding hotel quarantine in Bali have changed. Six of the quarantine hotels have been designated as ‘quarantine bubbles’, especially for the reopening of Bali to international tourists. In these selected hotels and resorts, you will be allowed to access certain facilities within the grounds during your quarantine period. We have marked any quarantine bubble hotels on our list with an asterisk*. In all of the other hotels on this list, you will be required to complete your quarantine in your room only.

1. Hyatt Regency

  • Location: Sanur
  • Price for 1 person starts from – 9,900,000 IDR (Approx $700 USD

The Hyatt Regency is in the seaside town of Sanur, a quiet part of the island. This five-star beachfront hotel sits in flourishing tropical gardens offering breathtaking views. The staff know all about making guests feel welcome and there is even a complimentary minibar waiting for you on arrival. 

As part of their quarantine packages, the Hyatt Regency offers four different room options: standard room, premium room, family suite and Regency suite. These range from 14,800,000 IDR for a standard room (double occupancy), right up to 22,500,000 IDR for the Regency suite (double occupancy). 

The rooms at the Hyatt Regency are very generous in size which will help alleviate that claustrophobic feeling. All the rooms have balconies too, allowing you to get fresh air and soak up the Bali sun at the same time.

2. Bali Dynasty Resort

  • Location: South Kuta –  Tuban

Situated in South Kuta Bali, The Bali Dynasty Resort is a good value option for travellers heading to Bali. Although their quarantine package isn’t the most inclusive on this list, guests get a decent amount included as standard and there is more flexibility when it comes to lunch and dinner options. 

The resort is just a 10-minute drive from the airport. All rooms come with WiFi, a television for catching up on your favourite shows and an outside balcony with garden views. Access to the outside is very important when it comes to fulfilling your mandatory quarantine! 

Both the deluxe and studio rooms can be booked for one or two guests. The staff always welcome visitors with a smile and will do what they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. 

3. Courtyard by Marriott Bali Nusa Dua

  • Location: Nusa Dua
  • Prices start from – 7,800,000 IDR single occupancy (Approx $553 USD) and 12,150,000 IDR double occupancy (Approx $861 USD)

Courtyard is a five-star offering by Marriott Bonvoy. If you are looking to fulfil your quarantine in luxury, it is a great choice. All rooms are spacious, offering wonderful views of the resort and surrounding areas. 

The hotel is located in the upscale part of Nusa Dua in the south of Bali. The rooms are modern, light and airy, great for alleviating that trapped feeling that you can feel during a mandatory travel quarantine. 

The hotel features high-end amenities such as marble bathrooms, private balconies and flat-screen televisions. Complimentary high-speed internet is also included in the package, making this a great choice for those who need to put in some hours at their virtual office. 

4. Tandjung Sari

  • Location: Sanur
  • Price for 1 person – 9,220,000 IDR (Approx $640 USD
  • Price for 2 people – 14,040,000 IDR (Approx $975 USD)

This luxury boutique hotel sits on Samur beach. As part of the Bali quarantine hotel scheme, they have allocated the incredible Village Bungalow for quarantining travellers. The bungalow does not have a private swimming pool but the spacious bathroom leads out to a concealed courtyard where there is an outdoor shower.

WiFi is provided and even though there isn’t a desk, there is a table and chairs where it would be possible to work. This means that Tandjung Sari would be a good option for both business travellers and digital nomads. 

Three meals a day and drinking water are provided inclusive of the quarantine package, however, additional beverages will be charged on top. At Tandjung Sari, all food must be ordered from the room service menu. Guests are not permitted to order food from external outlets. If you get hungry and want additional meals or simply fancy a change, you are permitted to order from the a la carte room service menu, however, this also comes with an additional charge (guests entitled to a 10% discount).

5. Viceroy Bali Luxury Resort*

6. Fairfield by Marriott Bali Kuta Sunset Road

There is high-speed internet to make those Zoom calls quick and easy. The rooms also provide plenty of space for lounging once you’ve completed your chores for the day. 

Incorporating responsible features into the luxury experience, this hotel prides itself on offering eco-friendly amenities such as bamboo toothbrushes and locally made bath products. There is also an in-room tea and coffee maker so that you can start your day right.

7. The Royal Pita Maha

The Royal Pita Maha is welcoming quarantining travellers back to Bali with a stay in their beautiful deluxe pool villa. This elegant option is decked out with traditional Balinese features and architecture. 

The villa boasts a private pool and tropical garden which overlooks the Ayung river valley. It is a great location for travellers to recharge their batteries and relax in a beautiful natural setting. 

Food is delivered to the room directly and outside food is not permitted. Drinking water is the only beverage included in the package so other drinks will be charged on top of this. 9. The Grand Hyatt Bali*

The Grand Hyatt is another luxury hotel located in the quieter area of Nusa Dua. The rooms are large with private balconies which allow guests to feel close to nature, even during their hotel quarantine. 

There is plenty of room in which to work out and exercise equipment can be rented for an additional fee from the hotel. The bathrooms offer a beautiful setting to wash off the exertion and guests are provided with batik robes and slippers. 

When it comes to food, there are lots of options, with continental, western, Indonesian, Balinese and sweet breakfast options. For the two-course lunch and dinner options, guests can choose between an appetizer and main course or main course and dessert.

10. Griya Santrian

  • Location: Sanur
  • Prices start at – 8,800,000 IDR (Approx $611 USD)
  • Includes: 4 nights stay, breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, drinking water, hand sanitiser, mask and tissue, airport pick-up (one-way), 2 X PCR test, 5 x pieces of laundry per person.

The quarantine package offered by Griya Santrian includes all the essentials. The rooms are spacious and light, allowing you to get on with any work or exercise you want to do while in isolation. 

Meals are delivered to the rooms at designated times and lunch and dinner are both from set menus. It is not possible to order food from outside the hotel. All rooms have elegant balconies which showcase the best of the surrounding scenery. 

Please note: If you arrive after 10 pm at the airport, you must book a consecutive five-night stay instead of four. 

11. Mulia Resort and Villas

Quarantine visitors at the Mulia will be staying in the Grandeur room which prides itself on comfort and luxury. Situated in Nusa Dua on the southern tip of the island, the resort is home to manicured tropical gardens.

The decor is understated yet modern, featuring a large bed with 400 thread-count linen. There is also a marble bathroom complete with a tub, high tech toilet and double vanity sinks. The surroundings are beautiful, offering views across the Indian Ocean. 

Complimentary internet access is available for guests who enrol in the Mulia Privilege programme. There are two arrangements for guests to choose from when it comes to meals. There is the option of full board (drinks not included), or taking a daily IDR lunch or dinner credit to use with the in-room dining menu. The latter option is available to adults only. 

Terms and Conditions of Hotel Quarantine in Bali, Indonesia

  • You must pay for your quarantine hotel in advance of your stay. 
  • Your hotel booking must be confirmed and you will need the QR code provided by your hotel. 
  • PCR testing is compulsory for guests.
  • You must independently arrange the necessary documents and visa for entering Bali. 
  • All hotel rates can change without prior notice, according to the latest government regulations. 
  • If you test positive on an RT-PCR test, you will be required to undergo treatment for COVID-19 in a centralised isolation facility. 
  • Food must be provided by the hotel. No external food is allowed.
