Itinerary
After you have eaten breakfast, you will depart for your kayaking adventure. You will begin paddling at around 9.30 am. First, you will receive some basic paddle instruction and also some safety information.
You will paddle to the west of Don Set before exploring some small islands to the north of Don Khone. This part of the trip will take around 40 minutes.
There will be some small rapids to start with but after mastering these, you will enjoy some more exciting rapids (grade 2-3). Dry bags will be provided to keep your belongings dry in the kayaks!
There will be a short walk to Khon Pa Soi Waterfall where you will stop for around half an hour to enjoy the views and explore.
Close to the border, you will have a BBQ picnic lunch. There is also some extra time to swim in an idyllic swimming spot. It is a little off the beaten track so you are likely to only see fishermen around the area.
Once you have filled your stomach and are feeling refreshed after the lunch break, you will continue to paddle downstream for around 40 minutes, arriving at Veun Kham village. From here, the car will take you to the mind-blowing Khone Phapeng Waterfall. This is the largest waterfall in the whole of South East Asia!
After visiting the waterfall, you will be driven to Nakasang, where you’ll get back in your kayak for the final time to paddle your way back to Don Det.
