Get off-road and get active in rural Laos on this half-day mountain biking adventure!
Itinerary: The Chicken Run!
- Distance covered: Circuit of 35 kilometres.
- Difficulty level: This tour can be a challenge for non-experienced mountain bikers.
You will meet your guide in the early morning and get sized up on one of our quality mountain bikes! (Helmet included)
To start the adventure, you will ride a short distance to the Mekong River where we’ll board a ferry to cross the river. Not many tourists venture over this side of the Mekong and you’ll meet villagers and witness real day to day life in the countryside.
Over the next few hours, we’ll complete a large circuit on our mountain bikes riding on dirt roads, climbing a few hills and crossing a few trickling streams. We’ll stop for lunch in a lovely village by the riverside with an amazing view of Luang Prabang. At the end of the circuit, we will cross the river on the local ferry to return to Luang Prabang.
You’ll be amazed at how easy it is to get off the beaten track and into the countryside of Luang Prabang, into places that few tourists who visit the UNESCO World Heritage city explore.
Please Note: The price above is the price for a ‘group trip’, which means that there needs to be at least 2 travellers for this trek to run. If you are booking for 2 people or more, your trek date and price is guaranteed. If you are a solo traveller, we will try to team you with another group that is already running, in order to reduce costs. This may mean that we suggest an alternative date to you. If there is no-one else to join the trek or you prefer a solo trek you will need to cover the cost of two people on the trek. We will let you know the situation at the time of booking and can offer a full deposit refund to solo travellers who we are not able to team with a group if they prefer not to pay the extra fee.
