18 Day Bali & Beyond – Itinerary
ARRIVE IN BALI
We will be at Bali’s Denpasar Airport to meet you off the plane when you arrive! You have the day to relax by our rooftop pool or explore the local beaches before we meet in the evening for a welcome BBQ to meet the rest of the group that will be travelling together on this life-changing 18-day adventure!
TANAH LOT & ROYAL TEMPLE
Along with our friendly local guides, we’ll visit two of Bali’s most beautiful temples today – Tanah Lot and the Royal Temple of Tamun Ayun. These temples are steeped in history and an important part of Balinese culture. In the evening, we’ll catch a sunset at the local beach before dinner and a night on the town in one of Canggu’s trendy bars!
Surfs up on day three! We’ll head to Kuta Beach to learn how to catch a wave with our awesome local instructors. In the afternoon, there’ll be plenty of time to shop in Kuta’s markets and then chill out and catch another incredible sunset at our rooftop pool.
UBUD & WATERFALLS
It’s time to pack our bags as we move location to the town of Ubud. En route we make a stop at a beautiful waterfall to cool off before arriving at our hotel. You will have the chance to freshen up before we head out to visit one of Bali’s most famous live music venues for an evening of singing and dancing!
COOKING CLASS & MONKEY FOREST
In the morning, we’ll go shopping for ingredients with a local family before they teach us how to cook some of Bali’s most delicious dishes in their home cooking school. The afternoon is spent meeting the famous locals of Ubud in the Monkey Forest! The hundreds of monkeys present are believed to protect the temple within – just make sure you don’t take any food to tempt them!
LOCAL MARKETS & RICE TERRACES
On our sixth day, there’s the option of spending a chilled out morning by the pool or exploring Ubud’s markets for souvenirs. Then, all together, we’ll head for a lunch with stunning views overlooking an active volcano. We spend the afternoon wandering the beautiful rice terraces which are still used to farm rice for sale all over the world.
HEAD TO THE GILI ISLANDS
It’s time to catch a ferry and head over to the picture perfect Gili Islands – everyone’s favourite islands! We’ll arrive at Gili Trawangan (our base for the next few days) around midday and we’ll have the afternoon free to explore the island or catch some rays by the pool. We then head out to watch the sunset as well as snap some photos on the famous Gili T swings!
ISLAND HOPPING ADVENTURE
We’ll spend the day island hopping around the magical Gili Islands. You’ll get to snorkel incredible reefs, shipwrecks and underwater temples before taking a pit-stop on the beautiful Gili Air for lunch. In the afternoon we head round to Turtle Point where you are almost certain to swim with these local legends and enjoy some up close and personal time before heading back to Gili T.
BIKE RIDE AROUND GILI TRAWANGAN
As there are no motorised vehicles on Gili T we hop on our push bikes to do a round trip of the island – stopping off at various viewpoints and gorgeous secluded beaches. We’ll then head out in the evening for a party at the lively local beach bars.
HEAD TO LOMBOK
On our 10th day, we’ll finally wave goodbye to the paradisical Gili Islands and hop across to the island of Lombok for the next part of our adventure! After a short ferry ride, we jump on a private bus down to Kuta in Lombok (not to be confused with Kuta in Bali) on the south coast and check into our new hotel for the next two nights.
SASAK VILLAGE & WATERFALLS
Today you are in for a treat! You will get a culture fix in the morning as you visit a traditional Sasak village to learn about the culture customs of the locals, before heading north to spend the afternoon at some of the most unbelievable waterfalls that you’ve ever laid eyes on at Benang Kelampu.
LOMBOK BEACH CRAWL
On day 12, we’ll spend the day beach hopping across the South coast and experience the untouched beauty that Lombok has to offer. We will visit Mawun Beach in the morning, followed by the ‘Secret’Lancing Beach, then finishing off at Selong Belanak. Here, you can relax in the shallow seas for the afternoon or hire a surf board (optional) for those who caught the surfing bug in Bali!
TRAVEL TO SUMBAWA
Today is mainly a travel day. After breakfast, we’ll all jump on a bus and head to the northeast of Lombok to catch a ferry to the neighbouring island of Sumbawa. It will take approximately 7-8 hours to get to our beach resort but when we get there, you will have the rest of the day to relax by the pool and recharge.
MOYO ISLAND DAY TRIP
We catch a small boat over to the gorgeous Moyo Island where we will explore the local waterfalls and beaches this picturesque island has to offer. Our local guide will take us to the hotspots and hidden gems before we head back to our resort for sunset drinks.
Today we set sail for the next three days on our live aboard boat and head towards the Komodo Islands. Our first stop is Satonda Island. Visit an inland salt water lake and enjoy snorkelling around the islands stunning reef. In the evening we tuck into a sunset BBQ on the boat.
MANTA POINT, KOMODO ISLAND, PINK BEACH & PADAR ISLAND
An action packed day! Start by snorkelling with some Manta rays before visiting Komodo Island to spend some time with the famous ‘Komodo Dragons’. After lunch, we head to Pink beach for some more snorkelling and finish the day with a trek to the famous view point on Padar Island for sunset. Capture the perfect post card pic!
KANAWA ISLAND & FLORES
Today is our last day of activities before the end of the trip. We wake early for breakfast, sail to Kanawa Island and spend a few hours here snorkelling and taking in the lush surroundings before heading to our final destination Labuan Bajo, Flores. We should arrive around 3pm which give us time to make use of our hotels awesome pool before we say our final farewells over dinner. From here, you can fly home, or set sail on another adventure with your new-found travel buddies!
